Introduction to the Free Care Program
Cooperative Home Care is proud to introduce its Free Care Program. This program reaches individuals who cannot necessarily afford home care services but who will benefit from them by increasing their independence and improving their life quality. Individuals with a specific diagnosis, who receive support from a specific disease association that is formally partnered with Cooperative Home Care in its Free Care Program, are nominated by their respective disease association. Once the nomination is approved by Cooperative Home Care’s Free Care Board, the individual will receive three hours of home care per week free of charge. These services are managed through Cooperative’s Private Services Department in a manner comparable to all other Private Services clients.
The Free Care Program is completely funded by Cooperative Home Care. In order to maintain and grow this program, Cooperative will designate $1 per hour of home care provided when the client is referred by one of its disease association partners (and not already enrolled in the Free Care Program or the association’s respite program) to its Free Care Fund. Additionally, Cooperative will host an Annual Fundraiser every spring, and may host additional fundraising events throughout the year. Net proceeds from these events will go directly to the Free Care Fund. Every disease association partner’s participation is integral to the success of the Annual Fundraiser.
