Reduced Fee Program

Learn About our Reduced Fee Program

We partner with Jewish Family & Children’s Services (JF&CS) to offer a sliding scale payment option for home care visits, open to people of all religious affiliations. Qualifying seniors, who need assistance with daily living activities, may pay what they can afford under this program.

What is covered?
The “Reduced Fee” program covers personal care and household assistance services such as help with bathing, meal preparation, companionship, light housekeeping/laundry and transportation to the doctor or grocery store. For many isolated seniors and adults with special needs, the service offers respite from daily worries, loneliness and fear.

How to qualify

  1. Call Cooperative Home Care at 1-800-HOMECARE in Missouri or 866-572-8585 in Illinois to ask for a confidential "Reduced Fee" needs assessment.
  2. A licensed clinical social worker from JF&CS will call and discuss your specific needs, financial criteria and determine what you can afford to pay. Once they identify your needs, they develop a care plan.
  3. Subsidies for in-home caregivers range from 10% to 80% off the typical $18/hour fee, depending on financial need.
  4. Minimum care is for one day per week and 3.5 hours per day. Typically, caregivers visit program participants 2 to 3 times per week.
  5. Every situation is different and requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
